Our Services

The Kinard Center specializes in speech-language pathology services across the lifespan, from infancy to adulthood, in either English or Spanish. We primarily provide services for individuals whose communication challenges have started in childhood.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping “late talkers” learn to speak

  • Providing services for neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism

  • Coaching parents on how to support their children

  • The Kinard Center also offers both clinical and research support to organizations

Services are offered in person in Cary, North Carolina and surrounding areas. Virtual options are also available. Explore our list of services to see what is a good fit for you.

Consultation

First-time consultations are free. We offer consultation and screening for individuals across the lifespan. Schedule an appointment to talk through possible concerns or to just to check-in about how you or your family member’s communication is coming along. You can also request feedback on other services you may be receiving to coordinate your care.

Speech & language evaluations

You can request an in-depth speech and language evaluation to determine if you or a family member is communicating as expected for their age, update previous evaluations, or get more information about known communication needs. After the evaluation, you will receive individualized recommendations for continued development.

Autism evaluations

Autism evaluations are provided on a case-by-case basis. You can seek out a medical diagnosis of autism or simply request an informal assessment of autism to receive recommendations for next steps.

Speech-language therapy

We offer speech-language therapy across the lifespan to support the development of communication and social skills, including individual therapy, group therapy, and parent/family coaching.

Workshops & talks

Organizations can request workshops and talks to provide education on a topic of interest, related to the field of social and communication development. Available for a range of backgrounds, such as parents, students and trainees, and professionals.

Clinical & research services for organizations

We offer contracted services to outside organizations needing clinical or research support, such as schools, clinics, research groups, universities, libraries, religious institutions, employers, or other community organizations.
